Position Summary
 
Authoring technical documentation to support Adobe Marketing Cloud products. Duties include writing conceptual overviews, step-by-step instructions, product white papers, and monthly release notes. Also, the work is not limited to visual, user interface only. The writer works with engineers create and maintain API documentation. All of this material goes into a coherent, consistent body of work that helps customers understand what the product is and how to use it. This is an on-line body of public-facing content with parts of it that tie in to the user interface via in-line help.
 
Responsibilities
  • Organize materials and complete documentation according to set standards and product release dates.
  • Edit, standardize, and make changes to material created by other teams. Docs should have a uniform style. The writer sets this tone, or voice, across all this material.
  • Working with product managers, customer support teams, and engineers to create new material and revise/correct existing material.
  • Create drawings, diagrams, or other visual content to help illustrate material as required.
Requirements
  • Technical writing experience. Knowledge of the publication process for software documentation, localization, information design, and structured authoring using the DITA open standard.
  • An understanding of digital advertising from a business and technical/engineering perspective.
  • Experience with authoring tools, HTML, XML, wiki code.
  • Experience with graphics software.

e-Learning Curriculum Writer with Professional Marketing International


Position Summary
Professional Marketing International (PMI) is seeking qualified candidates for an e-Learning Curriculum Writer. This position focuses on preparing content which is used in developing online training courses in a variety of subjects, including real estate investing, internet marketing and stock market trading. It also encompasses many other roles and special assignments. The successful candidate must have a capacity to learn new material or processes quickly and meet deadlines when under pressure.

Responsibilities
·         Conduct research online for new content
·         Consult with in-house subject matter experts
·         Prepare lesson content and assist with the production of video lessons
·         Assist in building cohesive learning plans for students
·         Complete miscellaneous writing assignments (marketing scripts, web page copy, instructional guides, etc.)
·         Manage other projects as required

Required Qualifications:
·         Strong writing, editing and proofreading skills
·         Ability to adjust writing voice to match intended audiences
·         Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
·         Passion for learning, teaching and helping others succeed
·         Proficiency with Microsoft Office (especially Word and PowerPoint)
·         Ability to effectively prioritize multiple concurrent projects
·         Strong attention to detail

Required Experience:
·         Two years work experience in a relevant area (writing, e-learning, coaching, etc.)
OR
·         Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (English, communications, marketing, business, education, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:
·         Experience with e-learning (preparing content, utilizing e-learning software such as Articulate, using learning management systems, etc.)
·         Rudimentary multimedia skills (graphics, video, etc.)
·         Experience with real estate investing, internet marketing (especially affiliate marketing) or stock market trading (especially options)

Paid part-time writing assistantship

NOV IntelliServ is currently seeking a Technical Writer intern who will work part to full-time (20-30 hours per week) under the direction of the Senior Technical Writer to research, write, and edit documents for hardware, software, and systems.

Responsibilities

Technical Writer interns assist with researching, writing, and generally editing documents for specialized leading‐edge computer network hardware, software, and systems. This position supports the ongoing research and development efforts of mechanical, electronics, software, firmware, and manufacturing engineering teams, as well as the production, quality, technical support, field services, and field maintenance departments. Receives coaching and guidance from more experienced Technical Writers, Team Lead and management.

Essential Job Functions
·         Researches primary and secondary sources to develop technical documentation.
·         Writes user guides, installation guides, release notes, online help, knowledge base articles, and other documents as needed.
·         Aids in formatting all technical documents.
·         Creates, maintains, and applies document templates and style sheets.
·         Maintains documentation standards.
·         Performs other tasks and duties as assigned.
Education

Technical Writer interns should be currently seeking or have completed BA in Technical Writing, English, or Communications.

Experience

Candidates should have 0 to 3 years’ experience writing and editing procedural, scientific, engineering, software, specification, and marketing documents.

Technical Competencies

·         Ability to understand and follow safety policies and procedures.
·         Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects.
·         Excellent written and spoken English language skills.
·         Ability to meet tight deadlines.
·         Hands‐on/educational experience proofreading, editing and revising documents to ensure consistency and conformity with acceptable documentation practices.
·         Ability to learn how to produce technical illustrations, charts, drawings, graphs, and so on to support technical documentation efforts.
·         Experience using Microsoft 7 Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
·         Ability to learn about computer hardware, basic electronics, and software.
·         Basic research and analytical skills.
·         Experience using style manuals and language reference books.
·         Advanced mathematical skills.
·         Experience with MadCap Flare or similar SGML tool is a plus.
